Puerto Montt is the gateway to Chilean Patagonia and one of the most important urban centers in the south of the country. How to get there
How to get there by air
You must travel to El Tepual International Airport in Puerto Montt (PMC), with direct flights from Santiago (1 hour 45 minutes). The air terminal, located 16 km away, receives seasonal international connections. From the air terminal, you must take a transfer or taxi to reach the city center in 20 to 30 minutes.
How to get there by land
From Santiago, you must travel more than 1,000 km along Route 5 South, a 14-hour trip that you should plan with rest stops. You can also take an intercity bus that covers the route and arrives at the city’s main terminal.

From Santiago, you can take a bus that takes between 12 to 14 hours to travel 1,000 kilometers to Puerto Montt. Another option is to rent a private vehicle and drive along Route 5 South, a journey for which it is recommended to plan a stop to rest along the way.
