How to get there
How to get there by air
The nearest airport is the Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santiago (SCL). From there, you must take a bus, rent a vehicle, or hire a tour to get to the Cajón del Maipo. The approximate distance to the beginning of Route G-25, also known as Camino al Volcán, is 35 km.
How to get there by land
From Santiago, the main access is Route G-25, also known as Camino al Volcán. The trip to San José de Maipo is 45 km (1 hour). You can arrive by public bus or private vehicle. If you are going to drive, you should consider the city traffic and weather conditions, as the road ascends towards the mountains.

The mountain climate is unpredictable; always check the forecast before traveling, especially in winter due to possible snowfall on the route. For outdoor activities, wear appropriate layered clothing, and bring water and food. If you are traveling by public transport, keep in mind that the buses back to Santiago run until 8:00 PM or 9:00 PM.
