Maricunga and Pedernales Salt Flats
The infinite mirror of salt and sky
The Maricunga and Pedernales Salt Flats make up the southernmost salt deposits in Chile. While the former stands out as a refuge for Andean flamingos, the latter has pink lagoons that magnify the immensity of the landscape.
Located over 3,000 meters in the Atacama Region, its remote location guarantees absolute silence. The white of the salt reflects the blue of the sky in its waters, creating a unique atmosphere in one of the most extreme places in the highlands.
