Land at Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL). From there, the journey is 109 km along Route G-25 (Camino al Volcán). You can rent a private vehicle or arrange a transfer or specialized tour for the approximately 2 hour and 30 minute trip.

From Santiago, take Route G-25 towards the Andes Mountains and drive 109 km, on a journey close to 2 hours and 30 minutes. The final stretch is a gravel road, so a 4×4 or high-displacement vehicle is essential, especially in winter. The best option for a smooth trip is a tour operator.

As it is a remote place, it is essential to bring water, food, and have enough fuel in the vehicle. Due to the mountain climate, you should use sun protection during the day and bring plenty of warm clothes for the afternoon. Always check the condition of the road before leaving.
