A glacial crater among ancient forests

Nevados de Sollipulli protects one of the most unique geological phenomena in the Andes. Its enormous volcanic caldera, 4 kilometers in diameter, has a perpetual glacier, transforming the summit into an infinite ice field.

This seven-hour expedition challenges you to cross forests of coigües and araucarias to dominate the snowy plateau, a privileged viewpoint towards the Llaima and Villarrica volcanoes. In its vicinity, the town of Melipeuco offers accommodation and typical gastronomy to prepare for the adventure and replenish energy.
