In the Cochamó Valley you will find imposing granite walls that rise abruptly above the dense Valdivian forest. How to get there

How to get there by air

If you want to reach the Cochamó Trail by air, you must fly from anywhere in the world to the Santiago Airport and then take a local flight to El Tepual Airport in Puerto Montt. From there, you must travel about two and a half hours along the Carretera Austral and Route V-691 to reach the town of Cochamó.

How to get there by land

From the town of Cochamó, you must take a 10 km gravel road to the start of the access trail to the valley. It is essential to arrive with a vehicle with high traction (4×4) and go to a local tour operator. Consider that the final access to the valley is a 4 to 6 hour hike.

Must-Know Tips

It is mandatory to register at the Visitor Center and have a camping reservation to enter, especially in high season. It is a demanding route, so good physical condition and adequate equipment are required. As it is a natural sanctuary, you must follow the minimum impact standards for its conservation.
