How to get there
How to get there by air
Fly directly to La Araucanía International Airport (ZCO), located 25 km south of Temuco. From the air terminal, you can rent a vehicle or take a bus service to the towns of Villarrica, Pucón, and Curarrehue, the main points of this area.
How to get there by land
From Temuco, the trip to Villarrica is approximately 110 km and takes less than two hours, using Route 5 South to Freire. You can easily arrive in a private vehicle or on the numerous buses that constantly depart from the Temuco Bus Terminal to these resorts.
Must-Know Tips
The Villarrica Volcano is an active volcano, so its ascent is only allowed with certified guides. Weather conditions can change drastically. Always follow safety instructions, respect the local flora and fauna, and avoid making fires in unauthorized areas.
