How to get there
How to get there by air
Land at El Tepual Airport in Puerto Montt (PMC). From there, the journey continues by land to Futaleufú (approximately 709 km) or by taking a small plane to Chaitén. Alternatively, you can land at Balmaceda Airport (BBA) in Coyhaique to make your journey north along the Carretera Austral.
How to get there by land
Start your adventure in Puerto Montt (Route 7), using the Bimodal Route. This route of approximately 709 km includes two ferry sections (not included in the 10 hours of driving) to Chaitén. From Chaitén, drive 150 km along Route 235 to reach Futaleufú. If you are in Coyhaique, you must travel north along the Carretera Austral for approximately 422 km, and the journey will take you about 8 hours.
