Day 1
Ascent to San Cristóbal
Start your tour at the Metro Baquedano station. From there, a short walk along Pío Nono street will take you to the main entrance of the Metropolitan Park (Parquemet), where Cerro San Cristóbal is located. If you need energy before starting, the area is full of ideal cafes for breakfast.
To reach the top you have two options: a 60 to 90 minute walk along the main path, or take the historic Funicular, whose journey lasts only 10 minutes. The summit is crowned by the imposing image of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception. Take advantage of the spectacular views to rest and try a traditional “mote con huesillo”, sweetened dried peaches and husked wheat in a sweet liquid.
For the descent, you can take the Cable Car from the Cumbre station to the Oasis station. This option will leave you a few steps from the Japanese Garden, one of the most beautiful and serene spaces in the park. As a finishing touch, when leaving the hill you will find yourself in the heart of the Barrio Bellavista, ideal to enjoy an exquisite lunch in one of its varied restaurants.
