Day 1
Sailing to Isla Lobera and Río Blanco Waterfall
Your adventure begins in Hornopirén, where you will embark on a sailing trip to Isla Lobera, a natural sanctuary where you can closely observe colonies of sea lions in their habitat. This is a magical tour through the Comau Fjord, which will give you spectacular views of the mouth of several rivers.
After returning to the pier and having lunch, dedicate your afternoon to hiking. Just 10 kilometers from the town, you will begin a medium-difficulty hike along the Río Blanco trail, known for its intense turquoise waters and accompanied by an impressive native forest.
The trail culminates in a viewpoint facing a beautiful double waterfall, whose force will connect you with the energy of Patagonia. After about four hours of activity, you will return to your accommodation for a well-deserved rest, with the sounds of nature as a backdrop.

After the morning of rowing and to close the trip, you will head to the Pichicolo Hot Springs. These rustic pools of volcanic origin, rich in minerals, are ideal for relaxing muscles and replenishing energy. It is the perfect finishing touch for an adventure and disconnection getaway in Hornopirén.

What you should know
How to get there by air
The nearest airport is El Tepual in Puerto Montt (PMC). From there, the best option is to rent a vehicle, ideally a high or 4×4, to have the flexibility to explore the area and reach the starting points of the activities. You can also hire a tour for your adventure.
How to get there by land
From Puerto Montt, you must travel 110 kilometers along the Carretera Austral to reach Hornopirén. The trip lasts about 3 hours and includes a ferry crossing over the Reloncaví Estuary, from Caleta La Arena to Caleta Puelche. To get around and complete this itinerary, it is essential to hire a tour or have a private vehicle.
Climate and clothing
The Patagonian climate is unpredictable. Always dress in layers, including thermal clothing and a waterproof jacket. We recommend wearing sturdy trekking shoes, a swimsuit, a hat, and sunscreen to enjoy all the activities.

Book navigation and kayak tours in advance, especially in summer. Consider that the cell phone signal is limited outside the town. Take cash, as not all services accept cards.
