Humboldt Penguin National Reserve
Where penguins, dolphins, and whales coexist
The Pingüino de Humboldt National Reserve protects a unique marine ecosystem made up of the Choros, Damas, and Chañaral islands. Its rocky coasts are home to stable colonies of penguins, sea lions, and the elusive marine otter. Sailing through the area offers high probabilities of spotting resident bottlenose dolphins and, during the summer months, the majestic passage of large whales.
The boats circle the islets for wildlife observation and allow disembarking exclusively on Isla Damas. There, interpretive trails run through white sand beaches and emerald waters, also ideal for recreational diving.
