How to get there

How to get there by air

Fly directly to La Araucanía International Airport (ZCO), located in Freire, 25 km south of Temuco. From there, you can rent a vehicle, take a transfer or a minibus to Villarrica or Pucón, a journey that takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

How to get there by land

From Temuco, drive along Route 199 to reach Villarrica in just over 1 hour. If your destination is Pucón, you must add an additional 20 minutes of travel. There are frequent intercity bus services that connect the three cities, as well as transfers and tours to visit the key points of the lake.

Must-Know Tips

Navigation is one of the main activities you can do on Lake Villarrica, with tours departing from the Villarrica and Pucón docks and offering panoramic views of the volcano. In summer, if weather conditions permit, it is possible to take longer excursions to Isla Aillaquillen.
