Unique desert ecosystems

The Los Flamencos National Reserve protects more than 73,000 hectares of high Andean ecosystems of incalculable biological value. This wilderness area is essential for the balance of the desert, safeguarding the flora and fauna that have managed to adapt and thrive in extremely arid conditions.

This sanctuary is home to the three species of flamingos that live in Chile, as well as vicuñas and foxes. By integrating tourist icons such as the Valle de la Luna and the Laguna Chaxa, the reserve has positioned itself as an unmissable destination to observe the dramatic geology and wildlife of the northern region.
