Pingo Salvaje
Pingo Salvaje offers a direct immersion into the estancia life in the Laguna Sofía area. You can participate in the traditional tasks of the baqueana culture, observing the work of the sheepdogs and riding horses along native forest trails with panoramic views.
The excursions will take you to key paleontological sites such as Cueva 4, an ancient refuge for extinct megafauna. In addition, you can kayak and admire from up close the immensity of the rocky walls of the area, where Andean condors fly at close range.

How to get there
How to get there by air
Fly directly to Teniente Julio Gallardo Airfield (PNT) in Puerto Natales; from there, it will only take you less than an hour of travel by land to reach the estancia. Another option is to land at Presidente Carlos Ibáñez del Campo Airport (PUQ) in Punta Arenas, and then take a bus or drive 3 hours (250 km) to Puerto Natales, before continuing to the estancia.
How to get there by land
From Puerto Natales, you will have to travel about 30 minutes in the direction of Lago Sofía to get to Pingo Salvaje. If you leave from Punta Arenas, the journey is approximately 3 hours along Route 9 to Natales, and then continue to the estancia. The most recommended option is to rent a vehicle or hire a private transfer service.
Must-Know Tips
Equip yourself with warm clothes and sturdy shoes that completely cover your feet. Keep in mind that it is possible to travel 14 kilometers of Patagonia in six hours on horseback, reaching the summit of the Mirador Cóndor, 533 meters above sea level. Remember that, as it is a natural environment, it is essential that you take care of and respect the environment.
