Discover the origin of the moai

Rano Raraku is the legendary "moai factory" of Rapa Nui. This volcano functioned as the quarry where the ancient sculptors carved the famous statues, and today it allows you to observe almost 400 of them in various stages of construction, many still attached to the mother rock.

Your tour takes you through the most iconic semi-buried figures until you reach the freshwater lagoon that rests in the crater. From the outer slope, you will enjoy an unparalleled panoramic view towards the Tongariki platform and the ocean, completing a unique archaeological experience.
