How to get there
How to get there by air
Fly directly to La Araucanía International Airport (ZCO), located in Freire, 25 km south of Temuco. From there, the park is almost two hours away. Rent a vehicle or hire an authorized transfer or tour service to reach the Rucapillán entrance (Pucón) on your own.
How to get there by land
The park has entrances in La Araucanía and Los Ríos. From Villarrica or Pucón, the Rucapillán sector is the closest, located about 18 km away on a mountain road. The main access through the Los Ríos Region is via Route 203, Coñaripe sector. Check the road conditions, especially in winter.

It is essential to be informed about the status of the volcanic alert before visiting, as the Villarrica Volcano presents constant activity. The mountain climate can change rapidly at any time of the year. In winter, carrying chains for vehicles is mandatory to travel on the access routes to the park.
