Millennial Araucaria trees next to the Andes

The Araucanía Andina is the ideal setting for ecotourism, home to volcanoes, ancient Araucaria forests, crystalline lakes, and diverse fauna. Among its must-sees is Conguillío National Park, famous for the Llaima Volcano and its lagoons of glacial origin. The Malalcahuello and Nalcas National Reserves stand out for their volcanic landscapes and exquisite hot springs.

How to get there

How to get there by air

You must travel to La Araucanía Airport (ZCO), with direct flights from Santiago. From the air terminal, you can rent a vehicle or take a bus. The key detours (80 km away) will take you to Curacautín, Lonquimay, or Melipeuco, the main gateways for tours. (59 words)

How to get there by land

Route 5 South is the main route from Santiago (700 km). You can travel by night bus or drive between 7 and 8 hours. The key detours will take you to Melipeuco (access to Conguillío) or Curacautín (access to Malalcahuello), the gateways to the Andean area.
