How to get there by air

Explore the Lakes and Volcanoes Route by flying to its two gateways. For the north, land at La Araucanía Airport (ZCO). For the south, your best option is El Tepual Airport (PMC). Both connect with Santiago and are the ideal starting point for renting a vehicle.

How to get there by land

Route 5 South is the backbone of this journey. From Santiago, drive to key cities such as Temuco (670 km) or Osorno (930 km) and take the signposted detours towards the foothills. You can also use direct buses to the main destinations, which are connected by inland routes.
