How to get there

How to get there by air

You must travel to Presidente Carlos Ibáñez del Campo Airport (PUQ), the main gateway to Patagonia. The airport has direct flights from Santiago and seasonal connections to Argentina. From the air terminal, take a bus, taxi, or transfer for the 20 km journey to the center.

How to get there by land

From Puerto Natales, take an intercity bus that covers the 250 km along Route 9 (3 hours). This is the main means of regional connection. You can also access it by land from Río Gallegos, Argentina, using binational bus services.

The climate of Punta Arenas is subpolar oceanic, which is characterized by its low temperatures throughout the year and strong winds. Therefore, it is essential to bring footwear, windbreakers, and raincoats.
