Day 2
Torres del Paine
We head to Torres del Paine National Park. We will take Route Y-150, a panoramic road that allows you to enjoy wide views of the Patagonian landscape, until you reach Salto Grande, a powerful waterfall that connects the lakes Nordenskjöld and Pehoé. Access is easy, with parking lots a few minutes from the first viewpoint.
From that point, you can continue along a low-difficulty path to the Mirador Cuernos. This walk, of approximately one and a half hours, will reward you with one of the most emblematic views of the entire park: a perfect postcard of the imposing Cuernos del Paine reflecting on the vibrant turquoise color of the lake.
Another quieter alternative, ideal for wildlife lovers, is the Sendero Portería Sarmiento. This three-hour walk, which begins at the gate of the same name, is famous for the large herds of guanacos that frequent it. Keep in mind that it is necessary to coordinate this experience with a local agency, since organized transportation is required for the return.
