The day starts in Castro, the capital of Chiloé. Drive in the morning through the island’s rolling landscapes until you reach Chiloé National Park. Once there, get ready for a 90-minute trekking through the Tepual Trail, which will guide you along wooden walkways over a ground covered with mosses and ferns, transporting you to a world of unique textures and colors.
After the walk through this wilderness area, walk to the Cucao sector, where you can enjoy the local cuisine in a restaurant overlooking the lake. In the afternoon, explore the Cucao Dunes trail, an overwhelming landscape that will give you unparalleled panoramic views of the untamed Pacific Ocean.
End the day at Rahue Beach, relaxing on its dark sands while waiting for a spectacular sunset. In the same area, you can enjoy a dinner with the authentic flavors of Chilota cuisine.

The tour will allow you to appreciate the immensity of the landscape from a unique perspective, connecting with the serenity of the inland waters of Chiloé until you reach the picturesque town of the same name.
Take a lunch break in Huillinco and experience firsthand the renowned hospitality of its people. Then, a short 13-kilometer trip will take you to Chonchi, where its iconic wooden church stands, an architectural jewel declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
To close the itinerary, explore the Museo de las Tradiciones Chonchinas (Museum of Chonchina Traditions) and learn more about the history and customs of the island, then have dinner in the same town before returning to Castro.

What you should know
How to get there by air
You will need to take a flight to Mocopulli Airport in Dalcahue (MHC). Upon landing, you can rent a vehicle or take a transfer to Castro, the main starting point for this itinerary.
How to get there by land
From Castro, the island’s main service center, you can reach Chiloé National Park by private vehicle or local buses, in a journey of approximately one and a half hours. To get around within the itinerary, a rental vehicle offers greater flexibility.
Climate and clothing
The climate in Chiloé is temperate oceanic, very variable and rainy even in summer. Dress in layers, always include waterproof and windproof clothing. Water-resistant trekking shoes are essential for the trails.
