Your adventure in Patagonia begins today. From Puerto Natales, a short and scenic half-hour drive will take you to Estancia Laguna Sofía, the home of the Pingo Salvaje experience.

Day 2
Última Esperanza Fjord
After a good breakfast, travel to the tourist dock of Puerto Natales, where you will embark on a spectacular sailing trip through the Seno de Última Esperanza. For about four hours, you will immerse yourself in a landscape of fjords, mountains, and waterfalls, with the possibility of spotting seals and majestic condors.
The first destination is the Serrano Glacier. Here you will disembark to take a gentle trek along a path that borders the lagoon, allowing you to admire the ice floes and native flora that has grown after the glacier’s retreat up close.
Back on the boat, continue your journey to the imposing Balmaceda Glacier, which you can appreciate from the deck of the boat. After this unforgettable experience, you will begin your return to Puerto Natales, taking with you the postcards of two of the most beautiful glaciers in Bernardo O’Higgins National Park.

How to get there by air
From Santiago (SCL), the most direct option is to fly to Puerto Natales Aerodrome (PNT), although flights are seasonal. The main airport in the region, with year-round flights, is Punta Arenas (PUQ), from where the land journey to Natales takes about three hours.
How to get there by land
From Puerto Natales, Estancia Laguna Sofía is located 24 km away, a journey of approximately 30 minutes by vehicle. To get around on the itinerary, you will need a transfer coordinated with the estancia or a rental vehicle to get to the Puerto Natales dock, the starting point of the sailing trip.
Climate and clothing
The weather in Patagonia is unpredictable. Dress in layers, including thermal and waterproof clothing. Wear comfortable trekking shoes, a hat, gloves, sunscreen, and sunglasses, even on cloudy days. The wind is a constant.
