What you should know

How to get there by air

How to get there by land

From Santiago, Valparaíso is kilometers away on Route 68 and you can get there by bus or private vehicle. Within the city, you can easily walk to most of the itinerary’s attractions. For Caleta Portales, it is best to take a bus or a colectivo.

Climate and clothing

Valparaíso has a temperate climate with a sea breeze. Dress in layers, as it can be sunny and windy at the same time. We recommend wearing a windbreaker, sunglasses, sunscreen, and very comfortable shoes for walking around its hills.

Must-Know Tips

Prepare to go up and down stairs and steep streets. Although the tour is on foot, the historic elevators are a great help. Be careful with your belongings in crowded areas and enjoy the bohemian atmosphere of the port city responsibly.
